Illumina

The Illumina platform is operated by (from left) Hanne Henriksen, Marianne Hansen, and Matthew KentTo fully meet the genotyping demands of our users, CIGENE has recently acquired an Illumina Beadstation 500G platform, Bead Studio Software and ll equipment required for performing genotyping (using Golden-gate, Infinium I and II technologies), and gene expression (using DASL) analysis (www.illumina.com).

For whole genome human genotyping Illumina provide options to genotype 370K, 500K and 1M fixed SNPs, and an option to construct a 320K fixed content array with an extra 60K user defined SNP content. A technically versatile lab protocol has enabled Illumina to perform "Intelligent selection" of SNPs, and thereby ensures a highly informative data set.

For both human and non-human samples, CIGENE can offer Illumina's iSelect Multisample array option to permit Matthew Kent, the Illumina managersimultaneous analysis of 12 samples (in sets of 96) and genotyping of between 7-60K user defined custom SNPs. While for smaller SNP numbers (96, or from 384 to 1,536) the Golden-gate ligation dependant SNP genotyping assay is an excellent option, enabling simultaneous processing of 16 or 96 samples.

CIGENE has good experience with the Infinium methodology and has used the 7.6K Porcine iSelect custom array to genotype almost 4000 samples, simultaneously establishing a pipeline for data quality checking and filtering. Concurrently we are building competence with large scale SNP discovery, a direct product of which will be a 60K Salmon SNP whole genome array which we expect to be able to offer from September 2008.
