Present positions: Associate Professor at the Dept. of Mathematics and Technology (IMT) and CIGENE, Norwegian University of Life Sciences; research scientist (20%) at Nofima Mat.
Degrees: M.Sc in physics and Dr. rer. nat. in theoretical physics at the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg, Department of Physics, Germany.
Previous experience in directing research: Began scientific career in theoretical physics and data modelling of complex quantum systems. Over the last 10 years have been working as a biospectroscopist at Campus Ås with a strong focus on data analysis. With a main research focus on the development of spectroscopic methods for the characterisation of cells and tissues. Have also contributed significantly to the development of data analytical tools in modern vibrational spectroscopy.
Present research activities and fields of interest: Present research interests include
a) development of high-throughput vibrational spectroscopy tools for the characterisation of cells and other biological material.
b) modelling of light scattering effects as in biospectroscopy;
c) new integrative data analytical methods for functional genomics;
