Research experience: Genetic transformation of plants: In vitro plant cultures, effects of light intensity and plant hormones on plant growth, vector construction, genetic transformation using Agrobacterium tumefaciens; Molecular biology/genetics: Sample collecting and handling, DNA extraction, microsatellite analyses, QTL-mapping, DNA sequencing, sequence alignmenting, SNP detection, SNP verification, SNP typing using MassARRAY technology (Sequenom), SNPlex technology (Applied Biosystems) and Illumina technology and data analysis.

Relevant recent activity: SNP typing, both CIGENE projects (on salmon, cod, cattle and goat) and external projects (human projects on cancer, ADHD, diabetes and forensics; plant projects; fish projects). In addition DNA sequencing, microsatellite/AFLP analyses and tutoring lab methods.
