CIGENE lecture: Uses of text mining in molecular biology

Time: Wednesday 12 May, 1115 - 1200

Place: Agricultural University of Norway, Auditorium H185, Dept. of Animal & Aquaculture Sciences Text mining is rapidly emerging as a major area within functional genomics. Eivind Hovig, senior scientist at the Institute for Cancer Research, the Norwegian Radium Hospital, has made substantial contributions to the field. In his talk entitled:
"Uses of text mining in molecular biology - sources and applications"
he will provide an insight into state-of-the-art in text mining today, and the opportunities and challenges that will face us in the coming years in our efforts to integrate this methodology into both the laboratory and the research process.
