We are now inviting applications for two positions associated with CIGENE: a one-year position as a laboratory engineer in genomics and a two-year position as a postdoctoral fellow in salmon genomics. The application deadline for both positions is 20th September, 2010.
Laboratory engineer (one year with the possibility of extension):
The successful applicant will be engaged in a variety of tasks at the genomics platform in CIGENE including for example, high-throughput DNA extraction, quality checking and measurement, SNP genotyping using state-of-the-art technology platforms, data analysis and reporting .

Postdoctoral fellow (two years):
The project is funded by UMB and will both strengthen our commitments to the international salmon genome sequencing consortium and further our research efforts to understand the genetic mechanisms controlling sex determination and other complex traits of economic importance in Atlantic salmon. Using high resolution sequencing and genotyping resources, the candidate will be part of an active international group of scientists working on salmon genome research at CIGENE.
