Construction of a dense linkage map integrated with physical maps in Atlantic salmon
The candidate will be working as a part of an international project which aims to develop genomic resources of fundamental importance for the understanding of genome dynamics and performing genome-wide fine mapping of Quantitative Trait Loci (QTLs) influencing traits of major economical importance in salmon. The resources under development are a dense linkage map, linkage disequilibrium (LD) and haplotype information (SalHapMap), an integrated genetic and physical map, and technology and resources to resolve duplicated regions in the salmon genome. Candidates should have an educational background in molecular genetics and/or bioinformatics. Applicants must have successfully completed their doctoral degree. The position is offered for 2 years. Annual salary ranges from level 54 to 60 on the Norwegian Government salary scale (approximately NOK 389,600 to 433,600), depending on qualifications.
