Postdoctoral fellow/Research scientist – Statistical genomics in salmon

Fine-scale mapping of Quantitative Trait Loci (QTLs) in salmon

The candidate will play an important role in a large interdisciplinary project focusing on mapping and molecular characterisation of QTLs in salmon.The successful applicant is expected to implement novel statistical and computational methods to analyze data from large-scale SNP-data in salmon. We seek candidates with a doctorate in statistical genomics or biostatistics and basic knowledge in biology and genomics. Strong computer skills will be considered an asset.

The position is offered for 2 years. Annual salary ranges from level 54 to 60 on the Norwegian Government salary scale (approximately NOK 389,600 to 433,600), depending on qualifications. A higher salary level may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants.
