Theme: Statistical service on experimental design and analysis of SNP experiments
Through interactions with actual and potential users, CIGENE has realised that there is probably a need for extending our SNP service to include assistance in both experimental design of SNP experiments and analysis of the data from such experiments. We are pleased to announce that in collaboration with the Norwegian Computing Center (www.nr.no), we are now able to provide both these types of assistance. In this connection we are arranging a reach-out day onFriday May 7 2004, 09.00-15.30
Seminar room A1.1004, Domus Odontologica
Sognsvannsveien 10
Rikshospitalet University Hospital
0372 Oslo
For map and transport alternatives, see http://www.iob.uio.no/kart_domus_odontologica.jpg
We will present CIGENE´s SNP-services, and give an introduction to the statistical design and analysis of association studies. There will be further time to touch on other interesting topics, and we therefore invite interested speakers to contribute to the day. An open discussion will also allow us to get feedback from potential users on how to make a customized service product.
Programme:
0915-0925: Welcome (Stig W. Omholt, CIGENE, Agricultural University of Norway)
0925-1010: CIGENEs experimental SNP service (Sigbjørn Lien, CIGENE, Agricultural University of Norway)
1010- 1030 Coffee break
1030-1200: Introduction to experimental design and statistical analysis in genetic association studies (Marit Holden, Norwegian Computing Center)
1200-1300: Lunch sponsored by CIGENE
1300-1340: Combining SNP and microarray data: a discussion of some examples from the literature (Arnoldo Frigessi, Norwegian Computing Center and Section for Medical Statistics, University of Oslo)
1345-1500: Contributions from the scientific community and open discussion (precise plan will be available later)
1500-1515: Conclusions
